Maybelline the Falsies ♥ Review

Hello everyone! Sorry that I've been MIA the last couple of weeks! They were busy and also lazy haha. But today I'm back with a review of my favorite mascara! I know that this has been talked about and reviewed to death, but I ran to the store yesterday to pick up a new mascara and ended up grabbing this one--again! So I felt it was only right to give the Falsies it's proper review. Enjoy xx

First off, for a drug store mascara, I really like the packaging. Its not too obnoxious or too boring, its cute and average with nice colors and practical sizes. I also really like how big the tip of the mascara wand is. Its really wide and allows you to catch almost every lash in one swipe. Although it may take a few tries and different angles to get your application just right (I know it did when I first used it!), after you have it down you will be in love! This mascara is the perfect amount of length and volume, without clumping or looking too heavy. It compares to the Benefit They're Real mascara, and is almost $20 cheaper! It also lasts all day without flaking or smudging in the least.  Overall I recommend this mascara to everyone, especially if you're looking for a quality mascara and a little more pocket money!

Thanks for reading! I have a lovely day! xx

Would You Rather ♥ Makeup Edition

*picture from tumblr*

Hello my lovelies! Sorry I didn't post much last week, I was super busy with school and just didn't have the time! But this school week is going to be a lot less stressful and I promise I'll be posting more :) Today I decided to do a quick little would you rather makeup tag. Enjoy! xx
1. Would you rather only ever wear eye makeup or skin makeup?
I would definitely rather wear skin makeup! My skin is very splotchy and uneven, and I have a lot of dark marks from acne because my skin scars very easily; so skin makeup is a must!

2. Would you rather cut off all your hair, or never cut your hair again?
I would rather never cut my hair again--it doesn't grow much regardless!

3. Would you rather always wear your clothes too big, or too small?
I would wear my clothes too big. I like big baggy sweaters and flowy skirts, especially coming near the colder months. Tight clothes bother me and I hardly ever wear them!

4. If you were given $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
I would rather buy clothes! I have a lot of both already, but I don't like to wear the same outfit twice!

5. Would you rather wear lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
I would rather wear lipstick as eyeliner, but only because black, brown and purple lips don't sound too appealing! haha

6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or Biker Shorts in public?
I'd probably wear MC Hammer pants to be honest, because then maybe I could like pretend that they were supposed to be harem pants and then people wouldn't think that I was mental.

7. Would you rather never be able to fill in your eyebrows or only fill them in using a sharpie?
I would rather not be able to fill them in. I have dark eyebrows and they're pretty well shaped. I don't really even need to fill them in now, I just do because I feel like it frames my face more!

8. Would you rather never pluck your eyebrows, or never shave your legs?
I would move somewhere really cold and then always wear pants, because God knows, me without my eyebrows plucked is a me that no one ever wants to see!

Thank you for reading! Have a lovely day :) xx

Music Review ♥ Lorde

Hello everyone! So lately I've been feeling obligated to share some of my music discoveries with you guys. I've gotten a lot of comments whenever I've posted playlists about my music taste and I felt like it was only right to share my findings with you all.

So a few months ago while having a roam around Spotify I came across a particularly interesting character--Lorde. I'm honestly not sure how many people know of her yet in other countries (they just started playing one of her songs on the radio where I live), but I found her first..so there haha. Anyway, she is a fantastic singer and her songs are so interesting and different. I love her style of music and its almost difficult to compare her to other artists because shes so unique. If I had to I would say that the style of her music is like Vampire Weekend mixed with upbeat Lana Del Rey and a sprinkle of edgy Marina and the Diamonds haha. Her stuff is definitely worth a listen though, and she has two EPs out: Love Club and Tennis Court and just released her first album called Pure Heroine. Below are links to a few of her songs:

My favorites are Buzzcut Season and Glory and Gore! Thank you for reading!

Autumn Tag ♥

Hello lovelies! Today I've decided to do the Autumn Tag that I saw on idkmatilda! Autumn (or fall as I call it) is my favorite season and even though there isn't much of it where I live--Arizona gets like two official weeks of a proper autumn haha--I still love it! Enjoy xx

1.  Favorite thing about it? I love fall fashion and fall colors! I have a lot of warm, fall colors crowding my closet and I always get excited to pull them out each year! I also love the holiday's in autumn, I seriously can not wait for Halloween!!

2.  Favorite drink? I love Caramel Apple Spice Ciders from Starbucks, its feel like drinking a hug in a cup :)

3. Favorite scent/candle? I'm not super into warm-y scented candles (the smell kind of sickly to me to be honest) but I love the Twilight Woods Bath and Body Works scent for any time!

4. Best lipstick? My go to lipstick all year round is Maybelline Color Whisper in Pin Up Peach! Its my all time favorite lipstick, and goes perfect with almost any skin tone and outfit!

5. Go to moisturizer? I use Juice Beauty Oil Free Moisturizer, which is organic and paraben free. Its really great for those with oily or combination/ acne prone skin!

6. Go to colors for the eyes? Bronze and gold eye shadows are a must for fall. My favorites are Half Baked and Chopper from the Naked 2 palette.

7. Favorite music or band/singer to listen to? I love alternative/indie and classic rock! Vampire Weekend makes me wanna cuddle up in a sweater and wear oxfords for some reason haha, so they're at the to of my list right now!

8. Favorite outfit to wear (i.e. boots & a scarf combo)? I'm obsessed with skirt and legging ensembles in fall and winter. They are literally all I wear! Add a scarf, combat boots and a big sweater and you got yourself a Jordan styled outfit :)

9. Autumn treat? I love hot drinks and all the food that fall holidays bring :)

10.  Favorite place to be? I love going out at night during the fall. I live in Arizona, so its still quite warm during the day, but on fall nights the weather is absolutely perfect :)

I tag everyone (mostly because I'm so lazy and don't want to pick people :))!

Thanks for reading! Have a lovely day :)

Hello everyone! I thought that today I would show you what I use to do my makeup everyday! (some of the products I listed aren't in the picture, because I'm dumb and didn't put all of the products out until like 10 years after this picture and I only liked this one lol) Enjoy xx

The Naked 2 palette (Half Baked and Chopper are my favorites)

Covergirl Classic Color Blush in Iced Plum

Makeup Storage and Organization ♥

Hello my beauties! I've been seeing a few posts like these floating around and thought I would write up one of my own! I recently got a vanity for my birthday (ahh!) and have now been wasting away my days applying my makeup at it and messing up its nice white top. So, without further a do, here is my makeup collection!

This is what my vanity looks like (and there's me hi)! On the left I have a small storage unit (thingy?) which I use to store all my boring non-makeupy things. I usually keep samples, lady products (eh-hem), and extra products. On the right I have a little cubby, where I store my face products (like moisturizer and makeup remover and such), extra makeup bags, and the last cubby has mason jars which I sometimes use for storage.

My vanity has two small drawers on the surface of it. On the top of the left drawer I keep a little, sparkly basket. I keep the face products I use most in here--acne medication, vaseline, and my (beloved) juice beauty moisturizer. On the top of the left drawer I keep two little buckets, one with Q-tips and the other with makeup brushes (don't judge my dirty makeup brushes--I promise I'll clean them!!)

In the right drawer I have some of my eyeliners and mascaras, others are strewn around my house and left in my makeup bag in my backpack (oops!). As you can tell I have a few favorite mascaras as well as one favorite liquid eyeliner (considering I own five of the same kind omg).

The left drawer holds all of my lip products! Lip balms, lip glosses, lips stains, lipsticks--you name it! I have to admit this drawer is getting a wee bit crowded, and this isn't even all my lipsticks! Today I counted at least five others in my backpack for school haha

The vanity has one big drawer--and I know it looks scary and messy now, but it has a rhyme and reason (kind of)!

The first section of the drawer I keep all of my foundations, mainly drug store and then some higher-end! I have quite a few foundations due to the fact that my olive skin is hard to match and my skin is sensitive! I've literally put my skin through hell just trying to find a foundation that works haha

The second sections--where it gets a little jumbled-- holds a few different things. In the back I have an acrylic container that holds all of my powders (there are a few more you can't see). It also has a few concealers, blushes and primers!

The last section of the drawer holds all of my eye shadow--and then some! In the back I have all of my big eye shadow palettes, including Naked and Naked 2 as well as and Ulta palette and and E.L.F. palette. I have a few smaller quad and trio (?) eyeshadow palettes and in the little cups I have single eye shadows as well as some random eye products!

And with that I have my makeup vanity! My collection is definitely not as extensive as some, but I'm very proud of my makeup and love testing it out and trying new things! Thank you for reading! Have a lovely day :) xx

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Concealer Review ♥

Hello all! Today I wanted to do a quick little review on the concealer that I've been using lately! As I mentioned in my Bare Minerals foundation review, my skin and silicone do not mix well. So in an attempt to try and save my poor skin, I've switched to organic makeup products. My skin is extremely spotty (I get dark spots from acne) so concealer is a must. So in hopes of having concealer success I picked up the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Concealer! Also sorry in advance for not-so-great pictures! Lighting was not my friend today!! Haha

Sorry for my icky chin :( But I really wanted to show you guys how it worked and why I love it, not just tell you about it!!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is a 100% vegan and cruelty-free makeup brand. They mainly sell products for professional makeup artists, such as airbrush foundation for photo shoots. I bought this concealer from Sephora for $20 in the color Y2. As for the color, its only a little off of my actual skin color, but is hardly noticeable. The concealer is very light and doesn't feel or look heavy on the skin. A little goes a long way with this product, so even though the tub is small it will last you! As you can see in the picture, it has great coverage and that was just a small swipe of my finger in the product! I really love this concealer and I love that it is making my skin even more clear with time. I recommend this concealer to everyone, especially given that this concealer won't only cover your blemishes and imperfections but it actually helps them go away! Love, love, love it!

Thanks for reading! Have a lovely day! xx

Motivational Monday? ♥ Being Self Confident

Hello my beauties! I felt like doing a kind of motivational Monday post today, I dunno--and I know for most of you that follow this blog who live in the UK, its technically Tuesday, but for me its still Monday haha. I wanna talk about confidence, because in today's society so many people aren't confident in themselves. I feel like many girls lack the confidence they need to live to their fullest potential, and its sad to see so many girls down on themselves.

Let me just start of by saying, you are all beautiful, no matter what anyone else says. There is a quote that says "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and right now that 'beholder' is you. Before anyone else can truly love you, you must love yourself--or so they say. But many girls almost refuse to love themselves, because they have imperfections. But nobody's perfect, so why stress yourself out trying to be?

I am a very brutally honest person, and I don't believe in wasting my breath trying to sugar-coat things, so I'm just going to tell you how I am. I am a very confident person. I don't know why honestly, because if I sit myself down I have an endless list of things I find wrong with my face, my body and my personality. But thats not what being confident is about. The reason I'm so confident in myself is because I stopped caring about what other people thought of me. I know its hard for many people to do, but sometimes you have to step back and ask yourself these questions about a situation:

"Is this moment right now going to affect my life in the long run?"

"Is this person going to matter to me 5 years from now?"

"Is this person's opinion more important than my own?"

I often ask myself these questions when I'm thrown into an uncomfortable situation or when someone else's opinion of me is thrown out. What you have to realize though is that other people's opinions of who you are don't really matter. These other people who are bringing you down, that you are forced to be with in work or at school don't care about you or your well being, so you shouldn't care abut their opinions.

Your flaws don't define you and you shouldn't let them. You are all amazing and beautiful people! Walk around with the confidence that you know who you are and where you're going (even if you don't). And here I go again being honest, but if need be, fake it til you make it. Seriously. Act like you are the hottest, smartest, most sought out girl there is and people will start to believe it. And you will start to believe it.

Thank you for reading! Have a lovely day xx

Staying Organized ♥ Balancing your Blog

Hello everyone! I've been posting a lot more lately and am honestly loving it! It feels so good to just sit down and write, but no matter how much I love it my blog still comes in second. To what you ask? School, duh. It can definitely get hard to balance my school work and plans while still keeping up with my blog.
And my blog usually gets pushed to the back of my mind when I get busy. But I have promised myself that I'm going to try harder to post more often! Here are a few rules/tips I have given myself to stay organized:

♥ Keep a planner- Being in advanced classes I know what its like to feel totally stressed out and like you have no time for anything. When you're that frazzled its easy to forget things you need to do. Keep a planner to track your school work as well as jot down ideas for blog posts.

♥ Write ahead- A way that I keep track of posts and stay ahead of the game is by writing multiple posts at a time. I almost never just sit down and write up one blog posts. If you have multiple ideas, enough pictures and the time, write up a few blog posts and keep them as drafts. When you find yourself too busy, just publish a pre-written post

♥ Put school before your blog- As much as I love to write on here and spend my time reading other blogs, school is extremely important to me. Don't let yourself get distracted and held up. Always put school first, blog second.

♥ Don't stress yourself out- Your readers will understand if you don't post for a few days. Don't cancel plans or avoid responsibilities for a hobby.

Thank you for reading! Have a lovely day :)

A Few Sad Songs ♥

Hello my lovelies! As promised, I am trying to post more during the week. At the moment I have no homework (hallelujah) which is extremely rare, and usually I would take this time for myself, but I wanted to take it for all of us instead :)

I've decided to post a playlist of a few calming/sad songs today. Kind of a downer I know. But last night my community got hit with really rough news. A girl from my school, who was diagnosed with cancer my first year (her second), passed away. Its been tough for everyone, because many of us knew her and all supported her. School was extremely quite and solemn today, and it hurt to be around so many mournful people. For anyone that has gone through something like this or is just having a rough day, these are a few songs I listen to to ease my mind. <3 (btw some of these songs have been featured on other playlists)

Let Her Go by Passenger

Paradise by Coldplay

Wake Me Up by Ed Sheeran

Angels Forever by Lana Del Rey

Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift ft. The Civil Wars

Mango Tree by Angus and Julia Stone

The Scientist  by Coldplay

Thank you for reading! I hope you and your loved ones are all well and healthy. Remember to be thankful for those you love and hold them dear to your heart, because life is precious and can so soon be taken away.

RIP Katie Wagner, you will be loved and missed

Bare Minerals Ready Foundation Review ♥

Hello lovelies! So recently on one of my (frequent) makeup research frenzies, I came across something quite interesting. Since I started wearing makeup my skin has not been pleasant. I had acne that didn't seem to budge and also tiny, flesh colored bumps adorning my cheeks and forehead. During this research I looked up two makeup products I'd used before--both having made me breakout-- and their ingredients. In both of these products (and later I found nearly all the products that have made me breakout) there was one common ingredient-- demithicone! Dimethicone is a type of silicone, and from what I've found my skin and silicone do not bode well. So in order to help stop my breakouts I have gone organic! With makeup that is. One step on my way to better skin was to purchase a new foundation--and Bare Minerals it was!

I purchased the Ready foundation for $29 online and got matched to the color R330 Golden Tan. This is a compact powder foundation with medium to full coverage. I immediately loved this foundation when I first used it. I apply it with the Bare Minerals Precision Face Brush (last picture), and get wonderful coverage. I still use a concealer under it though, because I have a lot of hyper-pigmentation and redness. The foundation is very light on your skin and doesn't feel like you are wearing pounds of makeup. Its small and light too, so its no burden to carry around for quick little touch ups! This foundation also lasts forever. Yesterday I wore it from the time I left for school until late last night when I went to the movies (nearly 17 hours). I only touched up a few times, to get rid of shiny spots, and it lasted almost perfectly the entire time! I am more than satisfied with this foundation, I love it and think its absolutely wonderful! I recommend this to those looking for a new foundation that is also good for your skin, gives good coverage, and is long lasting!

Beauty Haul ♥

Hello my lovelies! It is the weekend once again and I am back with another post! I'm going to start trying to write more during the week as well, because one post a week just isn't doing it for me. Anyway, recently I celebrated my birthday (yay!) and along with receiving a thing or two I also bought a few beauty products with my birthday money! This is a compilation of gifts as well as products I purchased from Sephora, Ulta and Target. Enjoy! xx

The Urban Decay Naked 2 palette I received as a gift! I'm obsessed (as you can probably tell because the fingerprinted mirror and lack of eyeshadow brush show that its been much loved)!

At Ulta I picked up two Real Techniques brushes! I got the powder and blush brush! (Don't judge my dirty brushes they've only been used once and I did not have the energy to clean them today haha)

From Target I bought a Maybelline Color Senstational lipstick (one of my all time favorite lipsticks!) in 895 On Fire Red and I also picked up a Sonia Kashuk lipstick in 91 Pink Punch! From Sephora I ordered the Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick in the color Jealous 07!

I also bought a Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics concealer from Sephora but they sent me the wrong color :( so I will be sending it back and repurchasing. I also got a ton of other freebies from Sephora including makeup remover and mascara! Thank you for reading! Have a fabulous week! xx

Liebster Award 1 & 2 ♥

Hello lovelies! I have been nominated for two Liebster Awards! I was nominated by Bea, who is lovely and one of the first blogs I ever started reading, you can find her posts HERE. And also by the wonderful Nadine who you can find HERE

Rules:

1. Answer the 10 questions which your lovely  nominator has given you
2. Nominate 10 bloggers who have under 200 followers and link them in your post (I went via Bloglovin').
3.Come up with 10 more cool and crazy questions for your nominees to answer!
4.Inform your lovely nominees so they can do their responses!

I've decided to take 5 questions from Bea and 5 from Nadine. Here are my answers:

Bea:

Why did you start a blog?
I started this blog because I love to write and also love sharing my opinions on various things--beauty, fashion, etc. I felt like blogging was becoming more popular and that my friends were getting tired of me rave about products when they truly didn't care! haha

Which is your favourite clothes shop?

In reality my favorite clothes shop is Forever 21, I literally think half of my wardrobe is from that store! In my dreams I'd love to spend endless amounts of money at Top Shop, Urban or Brandy Melville.

Which is your favourite makeup brand?

I really love Maybelline lippies, but definitely NARS for foundation. If NARS wasn't so ridiculously overpriced (I'm seriously not paying $25 for frickin' blush) I would definitely buy it more often.

How do you overcome bloggers block?
I never have so much as bloggers block, but more like a couple of days where I'm honestly just too lazy to write anything. I just think ugh I have to take pictures and edit them and write about them, when really all I want to do is lie in bed. But I do have a solution for that! On days where I have a lot of ideas, motivation or time I write up 5 or 6 blog posts and keep them as drafts so whenever I get lazy or get bloggers block I just post a "premade" blogpost.

Would you like to make YouTube videos?
I would totally make youtube videos, and my sister and I are actually planning to! I'm just afraid no one would watch them, or I wouldn't have anything to talk about, or I'd get a lot of hate or something!

Nadine:

What was your best birthday gift ever?
Okay I may be jumping the gun here, but tomorrow's my birthday actually (yay) and the only thing I asked for was a makeup vanity...fingers crossed?

How long do you spending reading other people's blogs everyday?
Since school has started I haven't been spending very much time reading blogs or even writing for mine. But on the weekends I dedicate at least an hour or two to reading and writing up posts!

If you could have one wish, what would you wish for?
I would wish that my family and I would be happy and healthy for the rest of our lives

Which 3 people would you bring with you on a deserted island?
I would bring Les Stroud (from Survivorman), Harry Styles and Ashton Irwin.

What is your all time favourite beauty product?

It would probably have to be any of the Maybelline Color Whisper lipsticks because I am obsessed!

My blog nominees are:

Lauren at The Curious Ginger
Christina at Style Storey
Catherine at Peaches and Cream
Becky at My Beauty Edit
Giedre at Giedre's Universe
Rebecca at 10 Downing Chic
Amy and Louise at Daisy Belle
Libby at Life of Libby

My questions are:
1. If you could only live with one beauty product for the rest of your life what would it be?

2. Who is you favorite music artist?
3. What is your favorite place to shop?
4. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?
5. Who is your dream spouse?
6. What was your favorite activity/event from this summer? Or what are you looking forward to?
7. If you could only have one brand of makeup what would it be?
8. Who is your favorite youtuber?
9. What inspired you to start your blog?

10. What do you want to do when you grow up?

Thank you for reading! I hope you all had a lovely week, and from now on I will probably only be posting on the weekends because of school! xx

Back to School ♥ Playlist

 *not my picture*

Hello everyone! It is once again that time of year--for me at least! Back to school (asdfghjkl;). I know many of the blogs I read and many of my followers are just dipping their toes into their summer breaks, but I unfortunately head back to school tomorrow. Meh. This means that although I have even less time than I did this summer to write up blog posts, although much more inspiration, I will probably write even more in efforts to try and avoid school work (hehe)! But for now I am going to send you all off with a back-to-school playlist. These songs are the ones I will be waking up and getting ready for school with! Enjoy xx

001- Chocolate by The 1975
This song has a super catchy beat, despite the actual meaning of the song. My advice is to just listen, enjoy and not look to closely into the meaning of the lyrics ;)

002- Try Hard by 5 Seconds of Summer
5SOS is not my usual type of band, but I one of my favorite nonetheless. Try Hard is a super cute song, kind of pop-rocky and definitely my favorite of theirs.

003- Diane Young by Vampire Weekend
This song is weird, no doubt about that. But if you're into weird music that gives you a little wake-up boost then this is for you.

004- Lisa Baby by Walk the Moon
Walk the Moon is my all time favorite band (and I plan to do a whole post on just them in the future) and this is one of my favorite songs. Also try I Can Lift A Car another favorite, and I have yet to show this song to someone who didn't like it.

005- Something Good Can Work by Two Door Cinema Club
No doubt any of Two Door Cinema Club's songs will wake you up (and if you listen to them you'll know what I mean). But this is one of my favorites of their's.

006- 50 Ways to Say Goodbye by Train
I don't usually listen to "radio music" or songs that are super popular, but I do really like Train and I love this song. Its really catchy and fun to listen to.

007- Electric Feel by MGMT
This may go down on the list of my most favorite songs ever. Its dubbed as Psychedelic Rock (wtf?) but is one of the best songs I've heard in a while, and everyone I show it to likes it as well.

008- Give Me Too Much Love by Ed Sheeran
I don't know what genius in the world of music and social networking websites came up with this, but I am so glad that they did! Give Me Too Much Love is a spin off of Ed Sheeran's Give Me Love, its actually Give Me Love layered over four times and is seriously one of the best songs I've ever heard!

009- 1901 by Phoenix
I've know about this song for years and it somehow always ends up back on my playlists. Thats a good sign right?

010- Best Song Ever by One Direction
I know I hate me as much as you hate me right now, but what can I say-- I'm a Directioner! And these boys have taken over my life, so obviously they needed to be on my back to school playlist!

Thank you for reading and/or listening! I hope you like my picks! I think I'll be doing more of these soon because I really love music and have a lot to share and even more still to discover! xx
